Lonie’s Obituary Lonie Lee Michaelis. 99, beloved mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, passed away peacefully on May 27, 2019. Lonie was born March 4, 1920 in Cat Spring, Texas to Jerry and Minnie Skalak.

She was raised and attended school on Cat Spring and was a member of St. John Lutheran Church. On December 9, 1939 she was united in marriage to Eldert Michaelis, where they spent their lives farming and running “Our Place” in Cat Spring for a number of years before retiring. She enjoyed hunting, fishing, gathering with friends, playing Bingo and Skip-bo.

Lonie is survived by her three daughters, Linda Petras and husband Daniel, Cindy Daly and husband Michael, and Sandra Haney; grandchildren Suzanne Wright and husband Sean, Jennifer Petras, Zach Haney, Adrienne Haney, and Bridget Daly. Her great grandchildren are Tristan and Ethan Wright, and Jacob Blom. She is also survived by numerus nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Jerry and Minnie Skalak; husband, Eldert and sister, Jeanette Bodungen. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to St. John Lutheran Church of Cat Spring, American Cancer Society, Cat Spring Volunteer Fore Department, or Cat Spring Agricultural Society.
