Lora Mae Phillips April 26, 1928 – December 23, 2018 Share this obituary Local Florists Send Sympathy Gifts Upload Photo| Sign Guestbook| Send Sympathy Card Lora Mae Phillips (nee: Raines), 90 years of age, and a resident of Wellington,, passed away Sunday, December 23, 2018, at New Life Hospice in Lorain, following a full and meaningful life. She was born April 26, 1928 in Powerburg, Kentucky. Lora had made her home in Wellington for the last sixty-one years.

She was employed at Tresse Nursing Home in Oberlin and Elms Nursing Home in Wellington as a LPN for thirty years. She cherished her role as a homemaker and had the gift of hospitality. Lora had a passion for caring for the needs of her family and friends and her greatest joy was the time she spent with them.

She loved her cats with a passion. She was a member of the Hossanah Fellowship Church in North Ridgeville and had attended the New Hope Church in LaGrange. Lora enjoyed shopping for those she loved.

She also enjoyed watching gospel and western shows. Survivors include her sons David Phillips of Tampa, Florida, Ronald Phillips (Debbie), of Wellington and Allen Phillips (Marie) of Parma; her daughters Linda Harvey (Charles) of North Ridgeville, Diane Hartley (Phil) of Lorain, Annette VanHyning (Jeff) of Mesa, Arizona and Tami Tansey (William) of Wakeman; thirty-three grandchildren; 60 plus great grandchildren; and six great great grandchildren with three on the way. She was preceded in death by her husband of sixty-four years Cleo William Phillips, on November 28, 2009; her daughter Mona Mocabee on October 29, 1997; her son Donald Phillips on June 19, 2018 and her siblings; and her parents Bill and Crinna Raines (nee: Carter).

Friends may call Saturday, December 29, 2018 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral at 1:00 p.m. at the Hempel Funeral Home; 373 Cleveland Ave. , Amherst. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery, South Amherst.
