Loree Rucker Sanders September 09, 1958 – May 05, 2019 Share this obituary Send Flowers Sign Guestbook| Send Sympathy Card Lorene was born on September 9, 1958 in Greenwood, SC, daughter of the late Bessie Mae and Alfred Rucker. Lorene was the third sibling of four. She was raised in a home where God is their family core value and she spent time going to different churches with her Grandmother Wardlaw to include Mount Morriah where she later became a member.

She was a graduate of Greenwood High School where she performed as a football cheerleader for four years. She later went on to earn a Bachelor of Science Degree from Lander College in 1980 and a Master of Education Degree from Winthrop University in 1984. In June of 1981 she was married to Bryant G. Sanders from Ware Shoals ,SC and together they had one son James Brandale Sanders.

The couple relocated several times to smaller cities throughout South Carolina and North Carolina until they settled in Rock Hill SC where they decided to lay roots. Lorene always knew that she wanted to be a school teacher that would change children lives. When she was younger she set up class in her back yard on Russel Street to help teach other children.

Her love of education and learning led her to become a teacher for the past 28 years in the Rock Hill School District at Oakdale Elementary where she retired last year (2018). Throughout her journey of life, Lorene has strived to be the best daughter to her parents, the best sister to her brothers and to her husband’s siblings, the best mother and aunt to her family, and the ultimate partner for her husband. Lorene’s legacy will forever be cared on through the love she showed her family and anyone who was lucky enough to meet her and embrace her spirit.

On this day she leaves behind to cherish her memory and everlasting love to her husband of 37 years, Bryant Sanders, and one son, James Brandale Sanders , and her only granddaughter, Isabella Sanders , one Aunt, Vivian Rucker of Rock Hill, SC. , and her father in law, Carnell Sanders of Ware Shoals, SC . Her 3 brothers: Chris of Columbia SC, Allen of Greenwood SC, and June Rucker of Texas.

Their wives: Peb, Daisy, and Debbie Rucker. Her nieces and nephews: Jasmine, Cambe, Avis, Allen Rogers, Renata, Emmanuel, and Alicia Rucker. Their spouses: James and Ken.

Her Sister in laws : Diane of Greenville SC, Shurn of Tampa Fla, Lynn of Tokyo Japan, their husbands : Franklin Smith, and Bobby Prince. Their children: Jared Dixon, Carlos Pruitt, Nicholas and Justin Cooper, Jaylen and Dylan Prince, Their spouses: Loretta and Tera and their children: Jordan, Ashton, and Jared Rashad Jr. Shawn and Kayla, Ezekiel and Matthew. Her brother in laws: Carnell of Ware Shoals SC, Reginal of White Plain New York and Dale Sanders of Tampa Fla.

Their wives: Kate, Pat and Charmaine. Their children: Akeba(Bisty),Monica, Shenna,Carletta, Rashad ,Brianna,Bradley and Brandon Their spouses: Derrick, Tyrone, Cory and Anita. To include a host of family, cousins, friends, church family and associates.

Memorial services will be held at 1:00 PM Friday, May 10, 2019 at Mt. Moriah Baptist Church, with Rev. Raymond Adams officiating.

Parks Funeral Home is assisting the Sanders family.
