The greatest mother Shannon Black (Kevin) could have asked for, this amazing role model worked as a Philadelphia School Crossing Guard at Front and Tioga streets for 20 yrs along with numerous second jobs. After retiring, Lorraine became care taker and “Nan” to Conor Jones, Ciaran Black, Declan Black; Kasey Valderrama (Leah & Landon), Marty Valderrama, Desiree Hanes (Avery & Keegan) and Brucie Lawless to enable the next generation to thrive.

Lorraine was the oldest of 6 siblings and is lovingly survived by her sisters AJ, and Jeanie who lived with her and took care of her in her final years. Dear aunt of Kim (Keith), Marty (Melissa), Erica (Pat), Steve (Danielle), Gary (Star), Mike (Jen), Brandon, Casey, Terry Jennifer and Nan/Rainey to Erin, Taylor, Dillon, Jackie, Keith, Olivia, Joshua and Brianna . Lorraine was the heart of our family, always ready with great advice, big hugs or a small gift for everyone that stopped by.

She passed peacefully after spending her last day surrounded by loved ones. As was her way, her last thoughts were of hugs and kisses to comfort those around her. Lorraine survived her brothers and sister Chucky, Casey and Mary as well as her nephew Jack, and if they know what’s good for them, they came to show her the way home.

In keeping with Lorraine’s wishes, in lieu of a viewing, a memorial luncheon for the family will be held on Tuesday, May 28, 2019 at Randi’s restaurant in Philadelphia from 12:30-3:30 pm. Guests are encouraged to wear something purple as it was Lorraine’s favorite color. *Please do not send flowers to Randi’s.
