OBITUARY Lottie M. Borowicz February 10, 1925 – November 21, 2018 Lottie Maryann Borowicz, age 93 of Traverse City went to be with the Lord with her children by her side on Nov. 21, 2018 at Munson Hospice House. Lottie was born in Detroit to Anna (Buraczewski) & Isidore Kurkel, who immigrated from Poland in the early 1900’s.

She married Mitchell C. Borowicz on Aug. 7, 1951 and they moved to St. Clair Shores, MI. There they raised five children.

Lottie moved to Traverse City in 1978 after the death of her beloved husband. It was then she began working in the housekeeping industry at local East Bay Hotels. She retired in the late 1990’s to spend more time with her grandchildren both in Traverse City and the Detroit area.

Her greatest joy was spending time with her family especially teaching her grandchildren how to cook her beloved Polish dishes. Every holiday will be remembered for its “special” traditional Polish dish that “Grandma GG” prepared. Lottie is survived by her two sons; James (Linda) Borowicz, Paul (Rachelle) Borowicz, daughters; Carol (Dennis) Damaske and Marie Borowicz.

Also surviving are her grandchildren; Hilary (Dan) Quagliana, Jessica Borowicz, Jeremy (Ashley) Damaske, Andrew (Charlie) Damaske, Annalie Borowicz and Kenan Borowicz and her great grandchildren Andrew, Thomas and Adelia. Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her son Thadeus in 2016, two sisters, and one brother. The family wishes to thank Munson Hospice Home Care for their unsurpassed kind and compassionate care and support this past year.

A very special thanks to RN Karen Rudolph for arranging a visit with the 2017 -18 Cherry Queen Ashley Schichtel. It was a very memorable event to her. Memorial services will be held next spring in Detroit, with interment to be held at Resurrection Cemetery in Clinton Twp.
