OBITUARY Lou Alice Glisson October 10, 1919 – January 11, 2019 Lou Alice Lewis Glisson, passed away at the age of 99 on Friday, January 11, 2019, at Castlewoods Place. Visitation will be 12:00-2:00pm, Sunday, January 13, 2019, at Baldwin-Lee Funeral Home in Pearl. Funeral services will follow at 2:00pm in the funeral home chapel with interment in Floral Hills Memory Gardens.

Lou Alice was born in Pineville, Mississippi, to William Bryant Lewis and Lizzie Pearl Wilkins Lewis, on October 10, 1919. She was a graduate of Pineville High School, Clark Business College, and the University of Southern Mississippi with BS and ME Degrees in Elementary Education. She taught in elementary school classrooms for over 30 years, and retired from the Natchez School System in 1982.

She was a charter member of Westminster Presbyterian Church in Natchez, Mississippi, and after moving to the Jackson area in the early 1980’s, was a long time member of Pearl Presbyterian Church. Lou Alice enjoyed sewing, needlecrafts, reading, and gardening. Lou Alice was preceded in death by her husband of fifty-five years, James David Glisson; two brothers, Floyd Lewis (Clara), and Atha Lewis (Virginia); four sisters, Frances Gilbert (Roland), Elaine Sorey (Robert), Venvela Chappel (Melville), and Nannie Lois Lewis; parents, Will and Pearl Lewis; and great-granddaughter, Bailey Campbell Smith.

She is survived by two daughters, Carolyn Smith of Flowood, and Beverly Kelly of Ridgeland; three grandchildren, Christi Smith, Heather Kelly Allegrezza (Jeff), and David Smith (Kathy); five great-grandchildren, Emily Allegrezza, Lillie Mae Allegrezza, Mary Kelly Allegrezza, Tucker Smith, and Bentley Smith; two sisters, Billie Gray, and Waudeena Carr; and numerous nieces and nephews.
