Obituary for Lou Evelyn McCoy Powell Mrs. Lou Evelyn McCoy Powell, 89, of Tampa, Florida passed away on Sunday July 29, 2018 at Home surrounded by family. Born in Ailey, Georgia on April 11, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Julian and Minnie McCoy. When she was a teenager, Evelyn’s family moved to Omega, Georgia where she met her Husband, the Late Silas J. Powell.

They moved to Tampa, Florida in 1965 and were married for 69 years and had six children. Evelyn loved children, animals, flowers, and music. Evelyn is survived by her children: Donald Powell and his wife Nancy, Wayne Powell and wife Doreen, Wanda Powell, Pamela Powell, Jane Moore, Jim Powell and Wife Barbara.

Evelyn was also a beloved grandmother to 21 grandchildren; 36 great grandchildren; 12 great great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister Eleanor McKellar and brother Carl McCoy; several nieces and nephews and a host of other family and friends. A funeral service will be Friday August 03rd, 2018 at 7:30 pm, a visitation will be from 5:30pm to 7:30 pm at Sunset Funeral Home and Memory Gardens 11005 N. US Hwy 301 Thonotosassa FL 33592.
