Obituary for Lucille “Lucy” Chavarria Lucille “Lucy” Chavarria, 64 of Navasota, passed away Wednesday, November 14th at her home. Visitation with family and friends will be held from 5:00 – 7:00 pm, Monday, November 19th at Nobles Funeral Chapel with a rosary following at 7:00pm. A celebration of her life will be at 10:00 am, Tuesday, November 20th, also at the funeral home with interment in Oakland Cemetery.

Rev. Lupe Ybarra will officiate. Arrangements are under the direction of Nobles Funeral Chapel.

Lucy was born on April 24, 1954 in Navasota, Texas to Pedro Ybarra and Trinidad Melchor. She married Jose Guadalupe Chavarria on June 15th, 1984 in Navasota and together they raised four children. Lucy spent her life taking care of her family.

She was a gifted seamstress and sewed most of the clothing for her children. She was also good at ulpholstery work and repair and throughout her life she supplemented the families income by sewing/mending for others. Lucy had a passion for red roses and took great pleasure in tending her own flower gardens.

She loved God and her biggest smiles came from serving and worshiping in her church and her community. She attended many retreats for Christian women and often encouraged her daughters to accompany her. She was a strong wife, mother and servant of the Lord.

To relax, Lucy could be found working crossword puzzles and watching the Hallmark Channel. She enjoyed flea markets, garage sales and the occassional trip to the casino with her family. Left to cherish her memory are daughters and sons-in-law Lucy and Israel Guitron, Monica and Jesus Cabrera and Maricela Chavarria and Jose Ramirez; son Miguel Ortega; sisters and brothers-in-law Fran and Tommy Bellow, Josie Urbano, Mary Jane Ybarra and Helen and Nick Quezada; brother Pete Ybarra; and grandchildren Brittney and Brooklyn Guitron, Christina, Jesus, Maya and Christopher Cabrera, Tony Magallon, Anthony and Kimora Flores, Benjamin Ramirez and Adrian Rierrafria.

Pallbearers are Abel Ochoa, Robert Torres, Jr., Nathan Ybarra, Jr., Tommy Ybarra, David Quezada and Tony Luna. Honorary pallbearers include Jesus Cabrera, Israel Guitron, Jose Ramirez, Miguel Ortega, Ramon Montemayor, Sr. and Nathan Ybarra, Sr. Lucy was preceded in death by her parents, husband Jose G.
