Lucille Mae (James) Walker, 86 of Hamilton passed away Saturday, March 9, 2019 at St. Patrick Hospital due to complications from surgery. She was born in Shawnee, Oklahoma on June 24, 1932, the only daughter of Jesse Henry James and Esther Mae Matthews. Lucille married James H. Walker in Phoenix, Arizona on February 2, 1952.

Together they raised seven children. During her lifetime, she had many jobs, her most important and proudest was raising her children. It was not until they were grown that she sought employment outside the home.

She enjoyed sewing, watching westerns, loved cooking and was a huge John Wayne fan. Her biggest joy was her large family, it was her dream. No matter what the circumstances were, she would be there for you.

She was always there for all of us, family or friends. She was a tough woman, losing her husband and three children. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, James; daughter, Donna; sons, Ivan and Eugene and granddaughter, Kimberly Sue.

She is survived by her daughter, Vivian (Ray) Wildman of Washington; daughter, Lavelle Walker of Hamilton; son, Randall Walker of Hamilton; daughter, Stephanie Walker (Emmette Weaver) of Drummond; sister, Ollie Oldham of Midland, TX; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; nieces and nephews and other extended family. Mama was the rock of our family. She never ceased to amaze us all how strong she truly was.

Even suffering and in tremendous pain, she was worried about the dirty dishes she left at home and apologized for being a “Pansy” because she wouldn’t handle the pain. Mama you left a hole in our hearts the day passed away that we will never be able to fill. Now you are an angel looking over us.

We love you more Mama. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, March 15th at Riverview Cemetery in Hamilton with Pastor Paul Anderson officiating.
