LUCILLE’s Obituary Lucille Reed was born April 17, 1927, on Easter Sunday. She was the youngest of 8 siblings and was only 16 when her mother died and only 20 when her father died. She married Marion Edwin Reed on February 2, 1946.

They lived in Shallowater, Texas and Lubbock, Texas for many years; then moved to just south of Vega, Texas in 1969, and farmed for many years, then later moved to Dimmit, Texas. She lived in DeSoto, Texas, with her daughter for the past 26 ½ years. She was the epitome of the Proverbs 31 woman.

She raised four children of her own, and helped raise many others; she was an excellent seamstress and could make something beautiful out of most anything; she was an excellent cook; she delighted in providing for her family; she worked outside the home after the children were grown and was manager of the fabric department at TG&Y/M.E. Moses in Dimmitt, Texas, for several years. She had a servant’s heart; she was a giver; she was a Godly woman; and loved her family and friends fiercely. She was definitely a Proverbs 31 woman.

She was preceded in death by her mother, father, two brothers, four sisters, and her husband, Marion Edwin Reed. She is survived by: Daughter, Linda Rhodes, and husband, Danny Rhodes; Son, Max Reed, and wife, Deb Reed; Son, Joe Reed, and wife, Laura Reed; Son, Jim Reed, and wife, Janet Reed; Grandchildren: Lesli Russell, and husband, David Russell; Shad Reed, and wife, Keva Reed; Ryan Reed, and wife, Kylene Reed; Gary Reed, and wife, Megen Reed; Kristile Aikens; Kyle Reed; Jake Reed, and wife, Staci Reed; Josh Reed, and wife, Jana Reed; Johnna Bradley, and husband, Bobby Bradley; Great Grandchildren: Reagan Russell; Allyson Russell; Riley Reed; Kolden Reed; Mason Reed; Jaxon Reed; Bo Reed; Luke Reed; Taya Reed; Johnathan Barrios; Troy Barrios; Jake Reed; Jase Reed; Kinley Reed; Madeline Reed; Step Grandchildren: Barry Rhodes, and wife Missy Rhodes; Davey Rhodes and wife, Tanya Rhodes; Step Great Grandchildren: Brittany Hampton; Tyler Rhodes; Ryan Rhodes; Chelsea Rhodes, Bridget Rhodes; Payton Rhodes; Step Great Great Grandchildren: Kayden Walker; Addison Hampton; one sister, Jewel Cheshier; two sisters-in-law, Frances Ballew and Beth Reed; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
