Ludene Shelley, a lifelong resident of Ashford, passed away Monday, October 29, 2018 at Southeast Health. She was 79. Memorial services for Ludene will be held at 6 PM Thursday, November 1, 2018 in Clearman Chapel at Southern Heritage with Reverend John Smith officiating.

The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the funeral home. Ludene was born June 26, 1939 in Houston County to the late Eugie B. and Ruby Harp Murdock. She retired as an Inspector from Wex-Tex after many years of service and was a member at Howard Grove Freewill Baptist Church.

Ludene is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Billy Ray Shelley and a son, Jimmy Ray Shelley. Survivors include her brother, Michael Murdock; nephew, Jeffrey and Ashley Murdock; brothers and sisters in law; James Hubert and Doris Shelley, Don M. and Marsha Shelley, Harold H. and Rose Shelley, Larry G. and Kathy Shelley; Betty Jean “Pat” Adams; several nieces, nephews and several cousins. A special thanks to her caregivers, Heather Abraham and Jessica Wesley.
