Luella “Joan” (Jarvis) Stivers, 80, passed away on October 22, 2018 in Lincoln, NE. Born July 8, 1938, to Fred and Elizabeth (Robinson) Jarvis in Schaller, IA. Member of P.E.O. and attended New Covenant Community Church.

She was a graduate of Macalester College in St. Paul, MN, and received her master’s in education from the University of Memphis. Survivor’s include her husband of 59 years, Dr. Edward Stivers; son, Nathan (Michelle) Stivers; daughter, Rachel Stivers-Stewart; grandchildren, Joshua, Caleb, Abigail, Anna, Elizabeth; brother, Byford “Bud” (Rachel) Jarvis; many nieces, nephews, friends and loved ones. Preceded in death by her parents.

Funeral service will be 11 a.m., Monday (10-29-18) at New Covenant Community Church, 6000 South 84th, Lincoln, NE 68516. Visitation with family greeting friends will be 5-7 p.m., Sunday at Roper & Sons South Lincoln Chapel, 3950 Hohensee Dr., Lincoln, NE. Burial 1 p.m., Tuesday (10-30-18) at the Cook Center Cemetery in Schaller, IA.

Memorial contributions may be directed towards the family for Joan’s favorite Christian organizations.
