Luther Cas “LC” Goins, 70, of Columbia, passed away on Sunday, January 27, 2019. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Friday, February 1, 2019, at 4:00 p.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 7449 Broad River Road, Irmo, SC 29063. The Goins Family will receive friends in the Relief Society Room from 2:00 p.m. to 3:45 p.m. prior to the service.

Burial will be private. In lieu of traditional black, please wear BYU Blue in honor of LC’s favorite team. Temples Halloran Funeral Home is serving the Goins Family.

LC was born July 18, 1948, in Letcher County, KY. He was the son of the late Homer Goins and Cuba Irene Manns Goins. He was a graduate of John F. Kennedy High School in Taylor, Michigan class of 1966, LC received his Master’s Degree in 1977 from Brigham Young University.

Prior to his retirement, he worked as a Park Ranger at Crooked Creek Park, Saluda Shoals Park and the City of Columbia. Survivors are his loving wife of 42 years, Janelle McInally Goins; daughters, Deena Goins Harris (Jeffery), Kassie Ann Bunting (Jacob), Karelyn Michelle Goins, and Kayla Goins Springer (David); sisters, Sharon Enoch and Bonita Durham (Perry); grandchildren, Kylie, Aiden, Landen, Hailey, Brendan, McKay, David and Thomas; also their beloved family dog, Emma. Those who preceded him in death were his late parents.
