Mr. Luther Jimmy Scott, age 70, of Raeford passed away Sunday, October 7, 2018 at his home. Mr. Scott was born in Cumberland County on March 5, 1948 to the late Junior Scott and Beatrice McCall Scott. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Alice Cummings Scott and his brother, Johnny Scott.

Mr. Scott served in the U.S. Army. His duties included a 16 month tour in Iraq with the 1st Battalion. He retired from NC National Guard.

He is survived by his sister, Shirley Lowery of Myrtle Beach, SC, 3 brothers, Jerry Scott, Larry Scott, and Gary Scott all of Raeford. A visitation will be held 12:00 until 2:00 pm Thursday, October 11, 2018 at Crumpler Funeral Home 131 Harris Ave. Raeford.

A funeral service will be held Thursday following the visitation at 2:00 pm in the Crumpler Funeral Home Chapel . Burial with full military honors will be at Rock Grove Baptist Church Cemetery, 360 T.C. Jones Road, Raeford.
