Lynn Vern Clayson passed away Friday, April 20th, 2018 at his home in Mapleton. He was born in Payson, Utah on November 27, 1942 to Lester Vern and Effie Marie Hancock Clayson. As part of a military family, Lynn and his sister, Jan grew up in many places including Japan, Germany, California, Colorado, and Arizona.

Lynn graduated from Scottsdale High School in Arizona in 1960. Lynn married Martha Kaye Bona in Payson, Utah in 1968. Their fiftieth wedding anniversary will be August 9th 2018.

He worked for and retired after thirty years from the Utah State Prison system as the Director of Correctional Industries. His interests include fishing, hunting, trap shooting, camping, driving muscle cars, being at the Clayson family cabin, and spending time with family and friends. Lynn is survived by his wife, Martha and children: Shannon Brost, Monica & Kirk Boyer, Ashlee & Matt Jeffers, and Zac & Karrie Clayson.

He leaves, with great sorrow, his twelve grandkids: Riley, Clay, Justus, Tyler & Amanda, Jaret, Dylan, Avery, Cannon, Ryder, Miller, Paityn, and Cash. He is also survived by his sister and her husband: Jan & Jack Snow and their family: Tory & Tina Snow, Ali & Scott (Snow) Parker, Hillary & Ben Hurst. Lynn is also survived by his in-laws: Monte & Jackie Bona, Dick & Liz Bona, Jane & Jay Isaac, and many other relatives and friends.

Lynn was preceded in death by his parents Vern and Marie Clayson, step-mother Arlene Willey, Karma Rosenlund, Steve Bona, and other special family members and friends. Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 26th from 6-8 p.m. at the Wheeler Mortuary, 82 W. 400 N. Mapleton. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, April 27th at 11 a.m. at the Mapleton City Center, 125 W. 400 N. (with visitation one hour prior to the service at 10 a.m.).

We kids would like to give extra thanks to Mom for taking such great care of Dad and giving us eight extra years with him. Love you, Mom!
