Obituary for Lynnette Kaleianuenue Aea On Monday August 20, 2018, our beloved daughter, sister, auntie, cousin, wife, mother, and grandmother, Lynnette Kaleianuenue Aea (Ignacio) passed away peacefully in her sleep in her home in Aiea on the island of Oahu, Hawaii. She was 73 years old. Lynnette always preferred to be referred to as Mrs. Aea.

Orchids, nutcrackers, Hawaiian music, the Merrie Monarch Festival, Korean dramas, and Zuni Tribe fetishes were some of the many things she loved. Lynnette was the oldest daughter of Abraham Elona Ignacio (deceased) and Cecilia (Jumalon) Ignacio (deceased). She had a brother, Ronald PK Ignacio (deceased) and a sister, Letitia (Tish) Holt.

Lynnette graduated from Sacred Hearts Academy in 1963. In 1967 while working at the supply warehouse at Hickam Air Force Base, she met Reuben Aea who just returned from Vietnam. At the time, Reuben did not have the courage to ask Lynnette out on a date, so he had his friend ask her out for him.

In 1968 they married and had their first son, Ronpaul Elona (Kathleen). Lynnette wanted to make sure the had enough money for a bigger family, so they waited until 1974 before they had their second son, Randon Keoni. In 1976, Lynnette had her third child, a daughter, Rana Nalani Wahine Celynn.

Lynnette is also survived by five grandchildren: Brandee Aea-Medeiros, Keilani Aea-Purnell, Kainoa Aea, Kekoa Aea, and Kawika Aea. In addition to being a homemaker, from 1982 through 1987, Lynnette and her husband were part owners of Aiea Liquors. When times were tough and money was short, she took jobs at Safeway and McDonalds.

Lynnette valued education. She sacrificed, saved, and worked hard to afford all three of her children a private school education from kindergarten through high school. Although Lynnette regretted not attending college, she proudly saw her children graduate from the police academy, college, and graduate school.

Lynnette was a lifetime member of ‘Ahahui Ka’ahumanu Chapter 1 of Honolulu since December 3, 1984. During her tenure of 34 years, she held the position of Secretary, Historian, Chair of Constitution and Bylaws, and Funeral Director.
