Lynus “Chuck” Graves (1924 – 2019) It is with tremendous pride that we celebrate the wonderful life of Lynus Charles (“Chuck”) Graves. A fourth generation Colorado native, Chuck was extremely proud of the family’s heritage. Born September 1, 1924 in Tabernash, Colorado, Chuck led an exemplary life as a husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather.

His true love, N. Shirley (“Gaby”) Graves, graced his every thought for over 60 years. Chuck and Gaby were known for their unconditional love for everyone . The front door was always open and their humble home was universally known as welcome harbor for family, friends, friends of friends or even strangers who would instantly become great companions.

A World War II Army veteran, Chuck was also a prolific home builder and the consummate family man. He was also known for his uncanny sense of humor. His witty remarks were always insightful, on point and innocently sarcastic.

Chuck’s written memoirs of Tabernsah, Crescent Camp and Hideway Park will remain an eternal part of his legacy. He has been honored by the Grand County Historical Society, and bestowed a permanent tribute to the Family in the Town of Winter Park on the banks of the Fraser River. To chuck, we believe this represents his greatest contribution as it embodies his unwavering priority of family first.

Chuck is now survived by 3 children, 6 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. Chuck’s family will miss him dearly, but finds solace in knowing that he can finally reunite with his dear sweetheart – our Gaby.
