Ms. Mable L. Bullock, 88, of Lumberton, passed away Oct. 22, 2018. Mable Lou Esther Dinnerson Bullock was born on April 24, 1930 to the late Bettie and Wisborn Dinnerson in Purvis, North Carolina.
Mable was united in holy matrimony to the late Willie A. Bullock for forty seven years. To this union ten children were born. One of whom preceded her in death, Mrs. Cynthia B. Hutchings (James) of Fayetteville, N.C.
She was a fun loving child who loved to sing with her siblings. Mable attended John Lewis School and Rosenwald High school located in Fairmont, N.C. She loved the Lord and accepted Christ as her personal Savior at an early age.
She was baptized at Mill Branch Baptist Church and served under the leadership of Reverend Marvin Ford for more than fifty years. Later years she served under the dynamic leadership of Dr. J.G. Everett and remained a faithful member until her health declined. Moreover, Mable’s joy was preparing meals for her family and friends.
Often times, she would make meals as they visited her home. She was a gourmet baker, but her specialty was butter pound cakes, which was a favorite request. Mable had many talents, she was a talented seamstress and would create outfits from tailored Suits to Prom Dresses.
Singing was her forte which bought her great joy. She was always willing and ready to sing to the glory of God. She was a lead singer and was often requested as a guest soloist.
Mable was loved and cherished by her family and friends. She always supported her family in everything they chose to do. She was there for guidance, encouragement, reassurance and assisting in any in any way possible.
Mable was a stay at home mom during her early years. Later, she pursued her education and then attended Robeson Community College in Lumberton, N.C. She was employed by Converse Footwear for many years; later she obtained her Certified Nursing Assistant credentials.
Mable loved to travel. She did not miss any Family Reunions. One of her most memorable vacations was a cruise to the Bahamas.
She was a very active in Mill Branch Church, Community and Civic activities. She served on the Senior Choir, Spiritual Choir, Vocal Choir, and Unity Choir, Pastor’s Aid (member/President),and was a Deaconess. Civic: United Order of Tent #560, Fairmont Achievement Club and Women of Hope.
Mable was a kind, sweet and loving Mother and Grandmother, she always had a warm smile, She greeted you with a great big hug. We will surely miss our Mother and the love she shared. She departed this life on October 22, 2018 at Southeastern Medical Center, Lumberton, N.C.

Bullock(Renee), Fairmont, NC, Evangeline Larry (Marvin), Fayetteville, Ga, Sonja B. Watson, Fairmont, N.C., Sixteen Grandchildren, Fifteen Great, Great grandchildren, one Great, Great, Great grand child. She also leaves to mourn, two Brothers, Cleotha Dinnerson (Sylvia), Fairmont, N.C, Willie L. Dinnerson, (Clara), Jamaica, N. Y. and one sister, Maeola Harris (Robert), Hempstead, N. Y. One sister-in- law, Mrs. Candice Bullock (Oliver-deceased) , Camden, N. J. and also a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.
