Obituary for Ms. Mable Savage Mable Savage was born Mable Davis in Lafayette, LA to Howard and Julia Davis on July 19, 1944, the oldest of 10 children. She passed away at Memorial-Hermann Southwest Hospital in Houston, Texas. Together with Claude Conerly, of Huntsville, Alabama, she lovingly reared her 5 children.

Having trusted in Christ at an early age, she loved attending church and made sure that her children were always present in church. She could often be found listening to Gospel music, cooking, gardening and enjoying walks. A native of Louisiana, she moved from New Orleans to Houston in 2005 following Hurricane Katrina.

She began attending Liberty Baptist Church soon thereafter. She was known for being kind and getting along well with everyone. She was preceded in death by son, Stanley Brown; her sisters, Erie, Nellie, and Ann; only brother, Howard; and nephew, Dehaven.

Left to celebrate her memory are her children, James Savage, Jr., Yolanda Brown, Nicole Brown and Danielle Brown; her grandchildren, Shatoni Brown, Simmone, Destiny, Justin and Derrick Williams; her great-grandson, Marquis Jack; her sisters, Margie, Katie Cummings, Georgia Mae, Johnnie Mae and Diane; her nephews, Robert Dawson, and Howard Curtis Hughes; and her niece, Florine Dawson.
