Obituary for Madeline Vaccarello Ranatza Madeline Marie Vaccarello Ranatza passed away on Tuesday, May 8, 2018. Beloved wife of the late Murphy J. Ranatza, Jr. Mother of Murphy Ranatza, III (Fae Esteves), Mark Ranatza, Sr. (late Julie), Matthew Ranatza (Colette). Grandmother of Robert Drake (Jackie), Mark Ranatza, Jr., Andrea Vaughan.

Great-grandmother of Meagan, Jenna, Gavin, Logan, Kayla, and Robbie. Great-Great grandmother of Carson. Daughter of the late Josephine Cacibauda Herman (late David) and Joseph Vaccarello (late Corinne).

Age 83 years, a native of Waltham, MA and a resident of Belle Chasse, LA for her last 65 years. As a teenager she moved to Belle Chasse where she met her future husband Murphy. She then moved to Los Angeles where she graduated from George Washington High School.

In 1954 she returned to Belle Chasse to marry and settled down on the farm where she resided until her death. Madeline was a homemaker, well known for her Italian cooking and seafood dishes, as well as her preparation of the local wildlife which she was given by her husband and sons. In addition, she worked on the family farm packing Creole tomatoes for most of the farms three generation of growers.

In her later years, she also worked for the Louisiana Department of Social Services where she retired from at age 74. Relatives and Friends of the Family are invited to attend the Funeral Mass in the Chapel of MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 2100 Westbank Expy, Harvey, LA on Tuesday, May 15, 2018 at 11 AM. Interment Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery, Gretna, LA.
