Obituary for Rene “Brother” Jean Laporte Rene “Brother” Jean Laporte passed away on Saturday, April 28, 2018 at the age of 73. He was a native of New Orleans, LA and resident of Metairie, LA for the past 28 years. Survived by Elizabeth L. Chong, the love of his life, for 35 years.

Son of the late Irenee J. Laporte and Ouida C. Pellissier and step-father, Curtis J. Pellissier; one daughter Cynthia Buuck and two granddaughters, Taylor and Madeline Buuck. Brother of Adele L. Maquar (Phillip). He will be greatly missed by three nieces, Natalie, Brenda and Debra and one nephew, Craig; four great-nieces, Crystal, Rachael, Jessica and Jennifer; four great-nephews, Craig Jr., Charlie, Allen and Christopher; 17 great-great-nieces and nephews and one great-great-great-niece; cousin, John and Syliva Rini and many other friends and relatives.

He will always be loved, never forgotten and forever missed. A Memorial Services will be held on Saturday, May 5, 2018 at St. Clement of Rome Catholic Church, 4317 Richland Ave. , Metairie, LA 70002 from 11 AM to 1 PM.

Mass will follow. Interment Hope Mausoleum, 4841 Canal Street, New Orleans, LA 70119. MOTHE FUNERAL HOMES is assisting the family during this difficult time.
