Magdalena “Madelyn” Maturkanic, age 90, of Albany Georgia, formerly of North Versailles, died May 24, 2018, in Albany. Born Sept. 14, 1927, in McKeesport, she was the daughter of the late John and Mary (Sotak) Hritz and the wife of the late Eugene E. Maturkanic.

Madelyn was a member of St. Robert Bellarmine Church. Her Catholic faith was central in her life. Madelyn was a homemaker and she worked and retired as a manager for Arby’s in North Versailles.

Shopping and watching TV were her favorite pastimes, but just being with her family brought Madelyn, her greatest joy. Survivors include daughter, Donna Elliott, with whom she lived; son, Gene of North Versailles; grandson, Matthew Elliott; great granddaughters, Madelyn and Hannah; nieces and nephews. Madelyn was preceded in death by siblings, John, Mary St. George, Helen and Agnes Hritz.

Private graveside service will be held at New St. Joseph Cemetery, in accordance with Madelyn’s wishes. Condolences may be shared at www. jaycox-jaworskifh.com.
