Major (Retired) Tyrone Ellis Ballard, 48, Man of GOD, loving husband, valiant father, humble son, tenacious brother, impressionable friend, and courageous soldier/warrior of the United States Armed Forces died on March 16, 2018. Tyrone Ellis Ballard was born September 17, 1969 in Goodwater, Alabama to Mr. T Ellis Ballard (Predeceased) and Ms. Shirley Ballard (Goodwater, AL). He leaves behind to mourn: his loving wife, Mrs. Judy A. Ballard (Enterprise, AL), six cherished children, Angelica Ballard, Shekiva Ballard, Xavius T. Ballard, Untayus Brown, Kayla Blanchett, Andrew Caldwell and eight adorable grandchildren.

He also leaves to mourn, one sister, Mrs. Teresa Burden (Mr. Cedric Burden of Alabaster, AL). He was predeceased by one brother, Richard J. Arrington and a sister, Tina Sheree Ballard. In addition, he leaves to mourn a mother-in-law, father-in-law, and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and friends.

Tyrone Ballard graduated from Goodwater High School, Class of 1987. He enlisted into the U.S. Navy in 1990 and later proceeded to switch his Military branch to the U.S. Army. Education has always been his passion, drive, and performance.

He excelled in the Non-Commissioned Officer’s Corp (NCO) and with advance studies……. hard work, and dedication, he was promoted to the position of a Commissioned Officer. During his twenty-eight years of dedication, he deployed to the combat zones of Afghanistan and Iraq.

He achieved many military decorations and awards while continuing travel to various countries such as Bosnia, Izmir, Turkey and Qatar. Tyrone Ballard loved his entire family and would attempt to spend most of his time cherishing each moment. He loved the LORD and received the Salvation of Jesus Christ at an early age.

While stationed in Hawaii, he was qualified as a Deacon. He and his wife recently united with Pleasant Shade Missionary Baptist Church in Enterprise, AL. He enjoyed reading, praying, studying his Bible, and riding his motorcycle and proud to be a Life Member of the Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. NOTE: Tyrone Ballard has a Life Member Number 12554 dedicated solely to him.

Post retirement, Major Ballard accepted the position as a JROTC Instructor at Hillcrest High School in Evergreen, Alabama. Though challenging at times, he expressed the love, fun and rewarding efforts displayed by himself and the young men and women of the JROTC program. Major (Retired) Tyrone Ellis Ballard we salute you this day.
