Obituary for Mamie Bussey Bittle Mamie Bussey Bittle, 90, of Jacksonville, FL, traded her earthly life for eternal life on Thursday, April 26, 2018 at St. Augustine Health & Rehab Center. A native of Lincolnton, Ga. , she was the daughter (one of four children) of Wilson and Vera Mae (Andrew) Bussey, born on Tuesday, September 27, 1927.

She was a faithful member of Friendship Baptist Church, Lexington, NC. , where she served as the chairperson of the Kitchen Committee, sang in the Choir and on the Green Thumb Ministry. She relocated to Spanish Fort, AL to assist in the care of her daughter and joined Mount Aid Missionary Baptist Church where she was active in Sunday School and the Willing Workers.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in eternal rest by her husband, Paul Bittle, Jr.; daughter, Vera Bell Bussey Demps; brother, Frank Bussey and sister, Olivia Bussey. She leaves to cherish her memories a devoted son-in-law, James Demps of St. Augustine; brother, Clarence Bussey of Lexington, NC; three grandchildren: James (Deitra) Demps, Jr., Letitia (Kenya) Griffin, both of Jacksonville, FL, Paul Demps (currently serving in the Navy stationed in Bahrain); eight great-grandchildren: Brittanie, James III, Alexander, Dylan, Evan, Kylie, Jacob, Jade; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and devoted friends. A visitation will be from 6-7 p.m., Friday, May 4, 2018 at Roberts Funeral Service.

Homegoing Celebration will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 5, at Friendship Baptist Church. Interment will follow at Forest Hill Memorial Park To send flowers or a memorial gift to the family of Mamie Bussey Bittle please visit our Sympathy Store. Upcoming Events Visitation 2018 MAY 4.
