Obituary for Manuela Lee Braxton Manuela Lee “Ella” Braxton, age 54 of Hughesville, Maryland, died November 15, 2018 at the George Washington University Hospital in Washington, DC. Ella was a Veteran of the United States Army and then transferred to the United States Navy, serving 2 years as a 2nd Lieutenant. After leaving military service, she was a Registered Nurse for 25 plus years at Southern Maryland Hospital in Clinton, Maryland.

She was also a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church. She was a dedicated mother and wife who was gave good service to her patients. She was also an animal and music lover.

She enjoyed cooking for her family and was an Eagle’s football fan. She was the daughter of Samuel Smith Sr. and Laura Lee McArthur Smith. In addition to her mother, she is also survived by her husband of 25 years, Darrell Leroy Braxton; her son, Shaquille Braxton; her daughters, Shania C. Braxton and Shanda D. Braxton; her brother, Samuel Smith Jr.; and her sister, Sabrina White (Ronnie).

Friends received on Thursday, December 6, 2018 from 10AM until time of Funeral Service at 11AM at Raymond Funeral Service Chapel, 5635 Washington Avenue, La Plata, Maryland 20646. Interment to follow at Maryland Veterans Cemetery, 11301 Crain Highway, Cheltenham, Maryland 20623.
