Marc was born on February 8, 1941 in Barbezieux Charente, France to the late Marc and Raymonde (Lamaud) Coiffard. Marc was raised in Angouleme, France.

He met his wife, Ingrid, and they were married May 15, 1964 in Germnay and both moved in America in April 1965.
