GLEN HAVEN – Marcia G. Mezera, age 79, of Glen Haven, passed away on Wednesday, June 27, 2018, at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born on January 16, 1939, in Bridgeport, Wisconsin, the daughter of Gerald and Jacquelyn (Chaney) Hedeman. Marcia graduated from Prairie du Chien High School in 1957.

On August 23, 1958, she was united into marriage to Robert J. “Bob” Mezera at St. John’s Catholic Church in Prairie du Chien. They also lived in the Hazel Green area, then farmed in Bridgeport, and later purchased a farm in Glen Haven.

She was also employed as a secretary at the Bloomington Vet Clinic, and then for Ferrellgas Company, from which she retired. Marcia was a devoted member of St. Mary’s Catholic Churches in Bloomington and Glen Haven and their Altar Societies. She took pride in her gardening, baking, and hosting family events.

Marcia dearly loved her family and enjoyed attending school and sporting activities of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Surviving is her husband, Bob; their children: Sue (Tom) Kuenster, Jeff (Julie), Scott (Jenny Udelhofen), Angie (Jeff) Redman, Krista (Lonnie) Hiley, and Nikki (Brad) Nemitz; 29 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; siblings: Karla (Curt) Troester, Robyn (Lori), Steven (Mary), and Michael Hedeman; sisters-in-law: Lucille Casper, Elaine (Bill) Fisher, Mary (Pete) Neisus, and Charlotte Mezera; a brother-in-law, Mark (Mary Jane) Mezera; many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Gerald (Jacquelyn) Hedemen and Bob’s parents, Matthew (Rose) Mezera, Marcia was also preceded in death by twin granddaughters, Jill and Jennifer Mezera; great-grandson, Bryce Heckendorf; nephew, Jonathan Hedeman; sister-in-law, Joanne Mezera; brothers-in-law: Eugene (Geraldine), Richard, Gerald, Paul (Bonnie) Mezera, and Thomas Casper.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 2, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Glen Haven, with Fr. John Meinholz officiating. Private family burial will be held at a later date.

Family and friends may call on Sunday, July 1, 2018 from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Glen Haven, where a 2:45 p.m. parish rosary will be prayed. Friends may also call on Monday from 9:30 a.m. until time of services at the church. The Martin Schwartz Funeral Home & Crematory in Bloomington is assisting the family.
