Obituary for Marcia Hufner Mock Marcia Hufner Mock, 56, of Louisville, KY passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 1, 2018 after a courageous battle with Huntington’s Disease. Born on July 23, 1962 in Mechanicsville, VA, Marcia is preceded in death by her mother, Jerry Swift Hufner; her father, H. Alvin “Al” Hufner; and brother Richard Hufner. Left to cherish her memory is her husband of nearly 20 years, John Mock and son, Ryan Mock.

She is also survived by her brother, Michael Hufner (Elizabeth) of Mechanicsville, VA and her aunt, Jean Epps, of Charlotte, NC. Marcia will always be treasured by her Mock family including Dorothy Mock (mother-in-law), Michael Mock, Jean Railey (Glenn), Sharon Snyder (Jeff), Stephen Mock (Paula), Carolyn Makk (Chris) and Maria Currey (Colin), as well as by many nieces and nephews. Marcia graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University with a Bachelor of Science in Marketing degree.

She was an avid reader, an inspired cook and enjoyed gardening and welcoming birds to her yard. She will always be remembered when the Kentucky Derby comes around, one of her favorite times of the year. Most of all, Marcia was a dedicated and caring mother and wife.

She found much comfort in her Catholic faith and was a member of St. Margaret Mary Church for many years. The family would like to thank Cathy Saliga at Huntington’s Disease Society of America – KY for many years of support and is grateful for the compassionate care given by those at Hosparus of Louisville and Landmark Nursing Center (especially Stacy Allen). We are also grateful for the specialized support given by Claudia Beckham (Teva Pharmaceutical) and Dr. Kathrin Lafaver (UofL Movement Disorders Clinic).

We thank our dear extended family member Father Fred Klotter for his spiritual guidance and steadfast support. Visitation will take place from 4 – 8 PM on Wed. , Dec.

5th at Ratterman Brothers Funeral Home – St. Matthews, 3711 Lexington Rd. A Funeral Mass to celebrate Marcia’s life will be held at 10 AM on Thurs. , Dec.

6th at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 3345 Lexington Rd. , followed by interment at Cave Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial gifts be made to: HDSA – Kentucky Chapter, 982 Eastern Parkway, Louisville, KY 40217.
