Marcus Berartez, Sr., 76, of Forney, formerly of Comanche, passed away in Kaufman TX, Monday January 21, 2019. Marcus was born November 3, 1942, in Odessa TX to Marcus H and Ofelia Sanchez Berartez. He enjoyed watching and following the Dallas Cowboys, playing golf, fishing, restoring old vehicles, and watching his grand kids playing sports.

Marcus is survived by sons, Marcus Jr. and wife Margaret Berartez of Forney, Ernest and wife Patricia Berartez of Waco, daughters, Elsa Berartez of Waco, Isabel Berartez and Gilbert Martinez of Abilene, Jesse Salinas of Lamesa, Esmeralda Salinas, Paul Salinas, Rene Gurrola, and Rudy Sallinas; 37 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by wife Betty Salinas, parents, Marcus H. and Ofelia Sanchez Berartez; Gasper Cabellero, Ofelia S. Cabellero, and Mary Helen Villanueva.
