Obituary for Mrs. Marganna M. Riddick-Overby On Tuesday, May 29, 2016, was the day that God decided to call his child, Marganna Riddick Overby, home to be with him. She was born to the late Reverend Edward Riddick, Sr., and Annie Julia Riddick who resides in Hampton VA. Marganna was a mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, niece, and cousin.
But most importantly during her final days she was a child of God. She attended Menchville High School in Newport News VA. She worked as a nurse companion and as a cook, which she truly enjoyed.
At an early age, Marganna attended the Church of God in VA and attended The Resurrection House Church in Columbia, South Carolina, where she was residing. While Marganna was preparing her life for her eternal reward, she would tell others about the goodness of God. She would always say that if God can take care of the birds, then he’s going to take care of her.
She would say to her sister Rosa, (Rolee, as she called her), “Don’t worry about anything girl because God got this”. She would daily talk with her mother, Annie, about her health and ensured her that she will be with God. Marganna loved spending time speaking to her loved ones.
If you wanted to talk, quality time was required by her. When you thought that the conversation would end with her goodbyes, it would start all over again and before you realized it, hours would have passed by. She would often call just to make sure that her daughters Shennell and Tonya were well.
