Obituary for Margaret Ann McGreevy Margaret Ann McGreevy passed away May 23, 2018. Margaret was born in St. Louis in September of 1946, to William J. McGreevy Jr. and Myra Louise (Harmon) McGreevy. She attended Rose Fanning Elementary, Roosevelt High School and graduated with a Master of Education from the University of Missouri, Columbia.

She lived most of her married life in the wilderness of Colorado with her now deceased husband Leon Bechard, and her two daughters Aimee Bechard (recently deceased) and Anna Bechard of Phoenix, AZ. Margaret most enjoyed the great outdoors and associated adventures, and continued her education through Colorado extension programs for ecology and preservation. She loved the flexibility of teaching second and third graders with an average classroom size of 8 to 12 students and was awarded Teacher of the Year in Elbert, Colorado.

Her students benefitted from the many areas of accomplishment in Margaret’s life as she incorporated, art, sewing, quilting, knitting, cooking, typing, ecology field trips and music into her classroom curriculum. Margaret returned to St. Louis after retirement and continued to share through substitute teaching. Her piano and harp were comforts in her everyday life as well as her almost magical style of writing.

She had the gift of her father’s Irish story-telling and her mother’s artistic talents. Margaret continued her love for the tranquility of nature in the Missouri Ozarks where she and her close friend Jon Gilmore explored the many miracles of our natural life. She will be missed by her family: her daughter, Anna, and granddaughters Maya and Savannah; sister Myra Finch (John) and sons Scott Miller and Mark Miller (Jennifer); sister Mary Beasley (Cloyd) and children, Scot Wallace (Andrea), Matt Ghormley (Tammy) and Jennifer Arthur (Bobby); brother Bill McGreevy (Mary Beth); sister Kathy McGreevy and partner Lynette Boston; and by many friends throughout the world.
