MARGARET E. MEREFIELD (nee McDowell), of Medford, NJ passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 22, 2019. She was 93 years of age. Born in Southampton, NJ to Oliver & Marion McDowell, she grew up in Southampton, NJ and resided in Medford, NJ since she was married over 70 years ago.

Margaret was a retired retail worker for Acme Markets in Medford, NJ and was a life time member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Medford VFW Post 7677 and a lifetime member of the Union Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary. She was also an avid Bowler and Bingo Player and was secretary for the Medford Rolling Pins Bowling League for 55 years. She is most locally known for her famous Christmas Lights on Taunton Road home.

She is the wife of the late Leon A. Merefield and the Beloved Mother of the late Judith P. Crain, James R. Merefield (Debbie) of Moundsview, MN, Marilyn E. Paul (Jim) of Medford, NJ and Ron Merefield (JoAnn) of Delran, NJ. She is also survived by her son-in-law John Crain of Vincentown, NJ and her 9 Grandchildren and 16 Great Grandchildren. Relatives and friends are invited to her Celebration of Life on Wednesday, January 30th from 3:00 – 6:00 PM at the Medford VFW Post 7677, 317 Church Road, Medford, NJ.

Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family. In lieu of other expressions of sympathy the family requests memorial donations to the Medford VFW Post 7677, 317 Church Road, Medford, NJ 08055 or to the Union Fire Company, 1 Firehouse Lane, Medford, NJ 08055. (www.
