Margaret M. “Maggie” Kulinski, age 89 years, died peacefully Sunday, November 4, 2018 at McLaren-Bay Region with her family by her side. She was born on February 28, 1929 to the late Margaret Mitchell in Detroit. Maggie met her future husband, Dr. Eugene J. Kulinski while she was employed at the University of Michigan Hospital blood bank.

They fell in love and were married on March 11, 1951 in Norfolk, VA. Maggie served her country proudly in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. She enjoyed… Read More » reading, entertaining, cooking, sewing, summers at their cottage on Ricoma Beach, singing and spending time with her family.

Surviving family members include her three children: Steve (Lori) Kulinski of Aurora, IL. , Ani (Mark) Leskun of Dearborn; and Ted Kulinski of Lansing; seven grandchildren: Christopher (Tiffany) Best of Pleasant Ridge, Dr. Benjamin (Lynne) Best of Grosse Pointe Shores, Dr. Katie (Steve) Potter of East Lansing and Barry (Glorimar) Kulinski of Fort Bragg, NC. , Julie (John) Lowis of Tolleson, AZ.

, Erin (Matt) Drufke of Aurora, IL. , and Sommer Kulinski of Aurora, IL. ; 13 great-grandchildren: Melissa and Mia Kulinski; Grant and Aubrey Lowis; Conrad Drufke; Brody, Avaya and Lois Best; Mason, Alex and Emilia Best; Owen and Eva Potter.

Maggie was preceded in death by her husband Dr. Eugene J. Kulinski in 2007 and brother, Leon “Bill” Griswold. The Funeral Service celebrating Maggie’s life will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, November, 8, 2018 at the W. A. Trahan Funeral Chapel. Rev.

Fr. Edwin C. Dwyer will preside and a luncheon for family and friends will be announced. Private interment at St. Patrick Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be directed to hospice facilities: Toni and Trish House or Brian’s House. Visiting hours will be from 3:00 to 8:00 PM Thursday, November 8, 2018 and 10:00 AM Friday until the time of the service at the Trahan Chapel. Maggie’s intense desire to remain in her residence of 65 years was fulfilled by the wonderful caregivers that she had for the last 11 years.
