Her childhood was spent in the Detroit area. During her teen years, the family moved to Tecumseh, MI where she graduated from Tecumseh High School in 1941. She worked for a while at the Willow Run bomber plant in Detroit to help with the WW II effort.

It was there that she met her future husband, Robert (Bob) MacDonald. They were married in December 1943. In their early married years, they moved quite frequently.

They lived in California and Ohio, but then settled back in Michigan, living in Tecumseh and Flint for about twenty years. Peg was a homemaker, busy raising their five children. Her activities revolved around their family and church.

In 1976, they moved to Scottsdale, AZ, to enjoy the warmer climate. After Bob passed away from cancer in 1996, Peg moved to Idaho to be closer to family. Peg was best known for her beautiful quilts, which all family members received.

Her Christmas quilt was featured in a quilt calendar. She also enjoyed reading, collecting china, knitting, and needlepoint. Peg often spoke of how blessed she was for her special circle of lady friends, who sat together in church, and would often meet for lunch and to play table games.

She enjoyed traveling to various places in the U.S. and abroad.
