Obituary for Margaret “Peggy” Susan Langan Margaret Susan “Peggy” Langan, 81, of Traverse City passed away Monday, May 14, 2018 at Munson Medical Center in Traverse City. Peggy was born on Tuesday, March 30, 1937 to the late Jack Adil and Eleanor LaVelle in Detroit. She married Matthew Raymond Langan on Saturday, July 13, 1957, at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Detroit.

A devoted, wife, mother and grandmother, Peggy also was devoted to her church, Christ the King Parish. It was there that she helped in the church office on Sunday’s and for funeral services and also served the parish as an Eucharistic minister. She became a member at Christ the King after she and Matt moved back to Traverse City over 20 years ago.

Prior to her retirement, Peggy had worked in sales for Jacobson’s Department Store. She enjoyed traveling, cross-country skiing, especially in the Alps and Canada and spending a little time at the casino. Peggy is survived by her children, Deborah (Kenneth) Hicks of Elk Rapids, Matthew (Sandy) Langan of Bloomfield Hills; her grandchildren, Kenneth Hicks, William “Will” (Mariah) Hicks, Kaitlin Hicks, Lauren and Erin Langan and her great grandchildren Parker and Autumn.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and a sister, Sharron( David) Valloni. Visitation for Peggy will take place from 5 until 7 p.m. Thursday, May 17 at the Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home with a Scripture Service at 7 p.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday, May 18 at Christ the King Parish in Acme, with visitation one hour prior to the mass at church. Burial will take place at Oakwood Catholic Diocesan Cemetery.
