Obituary of Margaret Schnack Margaret Louise Schnack Sept. 11, 1940 – December 18, 2018 51 Year Resident of Scotts Valley Private committal services are arranged for Margaret (Peggy) Schnack who passed away at the age of 78 in Santa Cruz, following a brave battle that she fought with cancer. Born in Medford, Oregon, she was a member of San Augustin Catholic Church in Scotts Valley for many years.

She volunteer her time at the Scotts Valley Senior Center as well as in her grandson’s classrooms at Brook Knoll School and many other organizations over the years. Peggy was a wonderful cook, gardener, homemaker and caretaker. She also loved animals and was always taking in strays.

At her home in Scotts Valley she was able to have many animals from a cow and pony to chickens, rabbits, cats and dogs. She always had a garden and was blessed with a green thumb. She thoroughly enjoyed sharing her home and her love of cooking with others.

She had many jobs during her lifetime, but all revolved around food and her love of entertaining. Her passion for cooking lead her to work at Farmer Exchange, where she meet many wonderful lifelong friends. She later owned and operated Sunny’s Deli at the Santa Cruz Yacht Harbor near the Crow’s Nest.

One of her favorite memories of the Deli was inviting friends to join her on the beach for Wednesday night BBQ’s and to watch the sail boat races. She will be remembered as a loving mom, grandmother and friend, who dedicated herself to helping others, and fought hard for herself when her health failed. She leaves her daughter and son-in-law, Liz and Joe Flores of Scotts Valley, and her three grandsons Joshua Flores, Cullen Frost and Ian Frost.

Nieces and Nephews, Dominic and Dina Bregante, Teresa Miller and Michael Schnack. She was preceded in death by her son David Frost and her siblings Madelene Bregante, Martin Schack, Elizabeth Schnack and Roberta Schnack and her parents Martin and Margaret Schnack. We would like to thank the wonderful nurses at Santa Cruz Post-Acute Care and Hospice of Santa Cruz County for their support and caring during her illness.
