Marguerite Athleen Powers Thomas, age 91, of Charlotte, NC, passed away peacefully Monday, July 2, 2018 in Tega Cay, SC. A memorial service will be held at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church, Saint Joseph, KY at 10:30 Wednesday, July 11. Marguerite was born June 27, 1927 in Owensboro, KY to the late William “Dell” and Cordova Marie Medley Powers.

She completed associate degree studies at both Mount Saint Joseph and Sullivan Business College. She retired from Jefferson County, KY after a 20 year career as a bookkeeper. Survivors are her daughter, Cecilia Kloecker, son-in-law Tom, son, David Thomas, daughter-in-law Susan, and grandchildren – Julia Baettig Kloecker, and Diane Kloecker and her sisters Martine Stahr, Elizabeth Powers; and brother, William Powers.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Brescia University, 717 Frederica St., Owensboro, KY.
