On Sunday, October 28, 2018, John Mark Davis entered into eternal rest. A graveside service will be held Saturday, November 3, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Woodside Cemetery located at 298 Guinn Street, Clover, SC with the Reverend Mark Miller officiating. The family will receive friends following the service.

Mr. Davis was born October 14, 1955 in Gaston County, NC to the late Dr. Rufus Jackson and Martha Adams Davis of Belmont, North Carolina. He was a graduate of Camden Military Academy and served in the United States Air Force. He was employed with SunEnergy1 of Mooresville, NC.

Survivors include his sister Susan Davis Gibson of Columbia, SC, brother Stephen J. Davis (Shari) of Hartsville, SC, his aunt, Grace Davis Alexander of Clover, SC, nephews, nieces, great-nieces and numerous cousins. He was also blessed to have his special “Kannapolis neighborhood family” which included the Simmons, Bryants, Trivettes, Duvalls and many others. Mr. Davis was pre-deceased by a brother, Robert Harold Davis and a sister, Martha Ann Davis Rhinehart.

John loved old western movies and novels which he collected and was a voracious reader of history, science and rock music. His most favorite collectable being the National Geographic Magazine. In lieu of flowers the family would request that contributions be made to The National Geographic Society c/o National Geographic Headquarters, 1145 17th Street, NW, Washington, DC 20036.
