Mr. Charles Lowry Black of 3346 Tinkerbell Lane, Charlotte, NC crossed over the Jordan River and entered his heavenly home on Friday, November 16th, 2018 following a long illness. The family will greet friends on Sunday, November 18th, 2018 between the hours of 5:30 PM and 8:00 PM at M L Ford and Sons Funeral Home in Clover, South Carolina, 29710. Funeral service will be at 2:00 PM on Monday, November 19th, 2018 at M L Ford and Sons Funeral Home located at 209 North Main St., Clover SC, 29710.

Burial will follow at Woodside Cemetery, 260 Guinn St., Clover, SC, 29710. He was cared for and surrounded by his loving family at his “old home place” at 2200 Templeton Road, Clover, SC since September 2017. He fought a courageous and tireless battle following several strokes, Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s Disease and heart failure.

Mr. Black was born January 15th, 1933, the first of eight children born to Jess and Suzie R Black. He was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Mary Ellen Jones Black, by his younger brothers, Richard N Black, Johnny H Black, and younger Sister Dorothy Sue Moss. He is survived by his sister Rachel E Weeks of York SC, brothers Eugene Black, Donald Back (Sara), Steve Black (Debbie) and beloved brother and caretaker Bobby Hull, all of Clover SC.

Sisters-in-law Maxine Black of Clover SC and Jeanne F Black, York SC, and many nieces and nephews. Mr. Black was a Charter Member of Oakdale Presbyterian Church USA, a Veteran of the US Army and was employed by Biggers Brothers Food Services for over 50 years as Executive Sales Manager. The Family would like to thank the many Doctors, Nurses, and Staff at CMC Main, CMC Pineville, and CMC Pineville Rehabilitation for their loving and professional care during his many visits.

The Family would also like to thank Alexia Espinoza, Arnetta Cooke, and Michael Phair for their daily compassionate and loving care and a special thanks to the entire Kindred Hospice Team for their kind and compassionate care. In lieu of Flowers, memorials may be made to Oakdale Presbyterian Church, 12585 HWY 55 West, Clover SC, 29710 and Kindred Hospice, 223 South Herlong Avenue, Suite 120, Rock Hill SC, 29732.
