McAllen – Maria Casas, 95, entered eternal rest on Friday, May 3, 2019 at home surrounded by loved ones. She was born on Saturday, September 1, 1923 in Mission, the daughter of the late Jose and the late Andrea Garza. Maria loved going to chuirch.

She was a strong woman with an abundance of faith. She enjoyed being mother and provider for her family. Some of her many hobbies were reading the bible and watching TV, escepially “Cowboy” movies.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband: Luz Casas; three sons: Jose Luis Casas, Luz Casas, Jr. and Leonelo Casas. She is survived by her children: Minerva Villegas, Jorge Casas, Pearl Cocio, Luis Casas and Ruben Casas; also surviving are numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm Friday, May 3, 2019 with a Prayer Service being held at 7:00 pm at Rivera Funeral Home of McAllen.

Chapel Service will be held at 10:00 am Saturday, May 4, 2019 at Rivera Funeral Home of McAllen. Interment will follow at La Piedad Cemetery in McAllen. Service arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Rivera Funeral Home of McAllen.
