OBITUARY Maria Consuelo “Connie” Pena April 27, 1931 – December 26, 2018 Maria Consuelo Pena, 87, passed away December 26, 2018. She was born in Calallen, Texas on April 27, 1931 to Braulio Olvera and Maria Cruz Martinez. She was married to Joe Luis Pena for 46 years.

Connie worked in cleaners for Peerless Cleaners. She was a member of Corpus Christi Cathedral and had a passion for coffee and pan dulce, dancing and listening to music. Connie is survived by her husband, Joe L. Pena; her children, Norma Jean Rodriguez (Gabriel), Elma Nedia Gonzalez, Roy Gonzalez, Jr. (Cynthia) and Gina Pena; grandchildren, Gabriel Rodriguez, Jr., Benjamin Guerrero, Jr. , Archie Randy Rodriguez, Rebecca Ann Ervin, Roger Rodriguez, Rogelio Gonzalez, Sarah Renae Garcia, Barbara Jean Flores, John Sunday Gonzalez, Jessica Gonzalez, Destiny Marie Gonzalez, Joe Edward Pena-Atuesta and Jeremy Gonzalez; her great-grandchildren, Gabriella Korrine Guerrero, Ramsey N. Ervin, Jr., Hannah Corrine Guerrero, Cayenne Rodriguez, Jose Flores, Jr., Achilles Alexander Flores, Aralina Bella Flores, Ever Gonzalez, Cassidy Gonzalez, Ariana Gonzalez, Layla Gonzalez and John Sunday, Jr., and Joshua Gonzalez; and her loving great-great-granddaughter, Leilani Kalea Ramos.

She is preceded in death by her brothers and sisters, Antonio Olvera, Juan Domingo Olvera, Esperanza Ramirez, Rosa Sierra and Alicia Zapata. Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 30, 2018 from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm at Funeraria Del Angel with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 pm that same evening. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 am on Monday, December 31, 2018 at The Corpus Christi Cathedral with Interment to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery.
