Maria Esther’s Obituary Maria Esther Ortiz earned her wings on March 13, 2019 at the age of 74. She was born in Monterrey, Mexico to her parents Pete and Augustina Ramirez on October 29, 1944. A beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend; now our Guardian Angel in Heaven.

Maria dedicated her life to her faith and her family. Her trust in God was unwavering; even in the face of many trials. She in turn, taught her children to have a firm faith in God, to be strong, loyal, independent and caring.

She expressed every day of her life that one of her greatest joys were her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. They all brought her so much pride and happiness. The family is at peace knowing Maria understood and believed in the promise of an everlasting life in heaven.

Her beautiful spirit will live on forever. She is preceded in death by both of her parents; siblings: Pete Ramirez, Joe Ramirez; and a grandson Brian Lee Ortiz. Maria leaves behind, to cherish her memories, her loving husband of 56 years Carlos T. Ortiz; her children: Carlos Ortiz III, Esther Haigood, Freddy Ortiz (Kathy); six grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; her siblings: Janie (Alfred), Tino (Sophie), Tony (Dee), Lupe (Isabel), Ralph, Robert (Stephanie), Andy (Sylvia), Julie; numerous nieces and nephews whom she adored.

The family will begin receiving visitors at 5 p.m. Friday, March 15, 2019 at Guardian Funeral Home with a Holy Rosary to be recited at 7:15 p.m. that evening.
