Obituary for Marian Q Zoll (Quealy) Marian Quealy Zoll, age 94, a long-time resident of Millington, NJ, died peacefully Saturday January 5th at Sunrise Senior Living of Basking Ridge. Born April 26, 1924 in Brooklyn NY, Marian was the daughter of the late Mary and Matthew Quealy. In addition to her parents, Marian is predeceased by her brother Matthew and her husband Edward.

A pioneer in Early Childhood Education, Marian graduated from Fontbonne Hall and Saint Joseph’s College for Women and became a teacher. After her marriage, she and Eddie had five children whom she stayed home to raise and often referred to as “my own nursery school”. Meanwhile, she remained actively engaged in public and social issues, always ready to offer her opinion on current events.

In addition to being a wife and mother, Marian faithfully performed the duties of a Catechist for over 40 years, ministering to the children of the Saint Vincent de Paul parish. She was also an active member of the Rosary Society, the Liturgy Committee, and the National Council of Catholic Women, as well as a Eucharistic minister, visiting the homebound and the “elderly” well after many considered her to be in the same categories. In her later years, she enjoyed chatting, gardening, and walking with the residents and staff of Sunrise Senior Living Community, and especially valued visitations from her family.

Always positive, encouraging, and child-centered, Mrs. Zoll was a frequently requested guest reader of children’s books well into her nineties. Marian is survived by children Peter, Monica, Susan, Ellen, and John; grandchildren Deidre, Cecilia, Philip, Shanti, Paul, Max, Janna, Mattaniah, Noah, Micah, and Hannah; and great-grandchildren Michael, Matthew, and Marcus. A Mass of the Resurrection will be held at St. Vincent de Paul RC Church, Stirling, NJ on Saturday, January 12 at 11:00 AM.

Visitation will be 10:00 AM in the Church. Condolences for the family may be left at www. valleymemorialfuneralhome.net To send flowers to the family of Marian Q Zoll (Quealy), please visit our Heartfelt Sympathies Store.
