Marianne Wenk, age 90, of Winfield, passed away Friday, October 5, 2018, at home surrounded by her loving family. She was born on October 14, 1927 in West Chicago, IL to William and Dorothy Streit. Marianne was a graduate of St. Mary’s Elementary School and West Chicago High School.

Marianne was united in marriage on June 26, 1954 to Charles Wenk of Springfield, Massachusetts. Ms. Wenk was employed at George Ball & Company. She was a licensed insurance agent and co-owner of the Dayton Insurance Agency in West Chicago and was also employed at Wheaton Medical Clinic for 17 years in the patient accounts department.

Marianne is survived by husband, Charles Wenk; her children, Charles (Jane) Wenk III, Patricia Wenk, Larry (Kim) Wenk and Penny (Brian) Sygnator; her grandchildren, Charlene Wenk, Tony Wenk, Kyle Wenk, Isabelle Sygnator, Emma Sygnator and Charles Sygnator; her great-grandchildren, Caitlyn Wenk, Madison Wenk and Elizabeth Wenk; her sisters, Patricia (the late Henry) Dettmann, Louise (Charles) Gustafson, Joan (Dan) Miller and Joy (Bob) Filip She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Kenneth Streit; one sister, Shirley (the late Charles) Kaelin, and grandson, Billy Wenk. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 9, 2018 from 5 to 8 p.m. at Norris-Segert Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 132 Fremont St. (one block north of Washington St. & Main Street) West Chicago. Prayers will be said on Wednesday, October 10, 2018 at 8:45 a.m. at the funeral home proceeding to St. John the Baptist Church in Winfield for Mass at 9:30 a.m. Interment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery in Geneva.
