Marie A. “Chickie” Hunchak, (nee: LaCorte) 74 of Bethpage, Long Island, formerly of Jersey City, entered into eternal rest on February 8, 2019 at her home after a courageous battle with cancer. Born March 8, 1944 in Jersey City to the late Sylvio & Josephine (nee: Puccio) LaCorte, she lived on Long Island since 1987. A graduate of Snyder High School, she retired as a Consultant with Verizon in 2018.

Her father brought her for her first job interview at the age of 17 with then New York Telephone, she remained with the company of over 50 years. Chickie was the matriarch of her family, always concerned for everyone’s wellbeing. She had a special place in her heart for animals, especially her cats and was a self-admitted shopaholic!

She is the beloved companion of Ed Dusek, cherished sister of Joanne Fletcher & Betty, Peter LaCorte & his wife, Diane and the late Andrew LaCorte and Michele Magnifico, loving niece of Nancy Whitley, and the proud, fun-loving aunt of Randi Lowney & her husband Ryan, Samantha Fletcher, Darren Fletcher & his wife Holly, Gabrielle LaCorte, Coralie Peary & Michael LaCorte. She is also survived by 8 great nieces & nephews. Relatives and Friends are invited to attend the funeral on Wednesday, February 13, 2019 at 9:30 a.m. from the Riotto Funeral Home & Cremation Company, 3205 Kennedy Blvd.

, Jersey City, NJ (RiottoFH.com). A Funeral Mass will be offered at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Rosary Church, 344 Sixth St., Jersey City, NJ. Mausoleum Entombment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 12, 2019 from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the American Cancer Society in her memory.
