Marie Estelle Veri Cacossa, 90, passed away Tuesday April 30th at St. Camillus Health Care Center. Marie Estelle was born on February 6, 1929 in Solvay to Nora (Salerno) and Louis Veri. As a teenager, she enjoyed participating in school plays and graduated Solvay High School in 1947.

Her first job was working for Excelsior Insurance in Syracuse. After having children she worked at the Solvay Village Hall. She then became the private secretary to the Town of Geddes Supervisor, where she retired in 1993.

Marie Estelle was a member of the Epsilon Sigma Alpha Professional Women’s Society. She was a communicant of St. Cecilia’s Church and was a member of its Altar and Rosary Society. Marie Estelle was an avid fan of classic movies, music and television.

She had fond memories of being acquainted with local media personality Denny Sullivan and national legend Dick Clark. She is survived by her daughter; Audrey (Jack) Kelly, of Solvay and her son; Matthew Cacossa, of Lakeland. Two grandchildren; John (Jennifer) Kelly, of Summerville, South Carolina and Paul Kelly, of Solvay.

Four great-grandchildren; Collin, Brandon, Evan and Nora. Funeral services will be held 8:45 am Tuesday at BAGOZZI TWINS FUNERAL HOME and 9:30 am at St. Cecilia Church, Solvay, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Private burial will follow in St. Agnes Cemetery, Syracuse.
