OBITUARY Marie F. Gremillion April 11, 1932 – January 6, 2019 Marie F. Gremillion, age 86, passed away on Sunday, January 6, 2019, at Bethany Nursing Home, in Lafayette, Louisiana. Wife of the late Octave Luger Gremillion. Loving mother of Michael, Michelle (Ellis), Mark (Sandra) and Keith (Monique).

She was the devoted grandmother of 6 grandchildren; Megan, Mollie, Laura, Mark, Jude and Emma. Sister of Floyd Fernandez, Sr. (Deanna), Paul Fernandez, Jr. (Sue), Sylvia Harness, and the late Joyce F. Humphreys and Joseph C. Fernandez. Marie was born on April 11, 1932, in Arabi, Louisiana, to the late Paul Eugene Fernandez, Sr. and Ursula Sabathe Fernandez.

She worked as a custodian at both Lacoste Elementary and Chalmette High School, where she was known for her friendliness and her beautiful smile. She lived most of her life in Chalmette, before relocating to Lafayette, Louisiana, after Hurricane Katrina. Above all things, Marie was a loving and dedicated mother to her four children.

She will be forever missed, and forever loved by all who knew her. Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation to be held on Friday, January 11, 2019 from 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM at ST. BERNARD MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 701 W. Virtue Street, in Chalmette.

A funeral mass will be held in Marie’s honor at 1:00 PM. She will be laid to rest in St. Bernard Memorial Gardens.
