Marilyn H Bard , July 22, 1925 — October 16, 2018

Marilyn H. Bard (nee Hoersch) of Cherry Hill, NJ joined her beloved husband Richard Bard in Heaven on October 16, 2018. Age 93. Marilyn was born on July 22, 1925 in Davenport, Iowa, the daughter of Harold and Gertrude Hoersch.

She was proud to be an Iowa Girl. Her future husband, Richard, was born on the same day in Chicago. Marilyn and Richard met at Coe College and were married a week after Marilyn’s graduation in 1947.

They settled in Chicago, where they had their three children, before moving… Read More » to Cherry Hill, in 1956, where they lived the rest of their lives. Richard, an executive with the Campbell Soup Company, died in 1988 of Alzheimer’s Disease. Marilyn was predeceased by her parents Harold and Gertrude Hoersch, her stepmother Sylvia Hoersch, sister Janie Brand (late Jeff) and husband Richard Bard.

She is survived by her sister Dorothy Salvon (late Stan), children Kip, Karen and Scott Bard (Karen M.) and grandchildren Scott, Jr.; Christian Bard and Karianne Clark (Edward) and many nieces and nephews. Marilyn was a devoted wife and mother. She loved collecting antique dolls and Father Christmases and was a past president of the Letitia Penn and Elizabeth Haddon doll clubs.

She also enjoyed needle work, sewing, crafts and photographing her dolls. Marilyn was an ardent baseball fan, one year attending 97 games involving her husband’s and children’s teams. She rooted for the Cubs and then after moving to Cherry Hill, the Phillies, rarely missing a game on TV.
