Marilyn’s Obituary Marilyn Yvonne Hayes of Tryon, Oklahoma passed peacefully from this life on March 9, 2019 at her home. Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Palmer Marler Funeral Home, Cushing, OK. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 14, 2019 at Tryon Cemetery with Brother Tom Wright officiating.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 13, 2019 at the Cushing funeral home from 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Marilyn was born in Fresno, CA on December 1, 1941 to parents James and Irene (Strawbridge) Hailey. She married the love of her life Glover Hayes Jr. on December 3, 1959 in Kingsburg, CA. Together they would share 59 years of joy, laughter, and love.

She was one of the fastest “cotton pickers” around when they were working the fields in Tulare, CA. They loved spending time outdoors together, walking the beach as well as fishing and canning tuna. Their union was blessed with two wonderful children, Glover Hayes III, and Gayle.

Glover and Marilyn moved to Tryon, Oklahoma in 1981. Marilyn had a great love for the faith and was a faithful member of the Church of the Firstborn in Chandler, OK. She was a caring grandmother and always made sure there was candy there for them when they visited.

She loved crocheting and made hundreds of afghans for her family and friends through the years. She is preceded in death by her daughter, Gayle Hayes; her parents, James and Irene; sister, Marsha Hailey. She is survived by her husband, Glover Hayes Jr. of the home; son, Glover Hayes III and wife Janet of Tryon, OK; grandchildren, Andrew and wife Rebeca Hayes of Edmond, OK, Alicia and husband Joe DelosSantos of Macomb, OK, Glover Hayes IV and wife Michala of Oklahoma City, OK, Jessie Hayes of Tryon, OK and Casey Johnson of Lawton, OK; great grandchildren, Joe, Zoey, and Braden DelosSantos and Glover V and Emmie Lou Hayes.
