OBITUARY Marion DeCataldo January 18, 1926 – October 16, 2018 Marion J. DeCataldo, a lifelong Staten Islander passed away Tuesday October 11th surrounded by her loving family. The daughter of the late Mary and John McCue, Marion was a graduate of Saint Peter’s Girls High School. She later worked at Bethlehem Steel in Mariners Harbor, where she met her husband of nearly sixty years, Frank DeCataldo.

Marion was an active parishioner of Sacred Heart Church in West Brighton for many years, where she was a longtime member of the Mother’s Guild. Marion enjoyed gardening, dancing, and music from the 1940’s. She was proud of her Irish heritage, and her home on Davis Avenue was standing room only every year on the day of The Staten Island Saint Patrick’s Parade.

Above all she loved her family. Mother of eleven, Grandmother of twenty-one, and Great Grandmother of fifteen, she enjoyed nothing more than being in their company. She learned to cook Italian favorites with the help of her mother in law, and her annual family Christmas party was a feast and a festival unto itself.

She will be dearly missed. Her family wishes to extend their thanks to the kind and capable staff of Seaview Rehabilitation Hospital, and of the Brielle at Seaview which she called home this past year, as well as her personal aide Maria. Special recognition of Dr. Jaudat Khan for his kindness and true concern are also in order.

Marion is predeceased by her Husband Frank, her sons Peter and John, her sons-in-law Joseph Sullivan, George Scholer, and Norman Paulsen, and her brother Walter McCue. Marion is survived by her children Mary (Chet) Blonkowski, Frank(Elaine) DeCataldo, Patricia Paulsen, Eileen (Paul) Cox, Susan (Matthew) Cirelli, Kathleen (Paul) Keyes, Virginia (Jay) Higgins, Thomas (Marybeth) DeCataldo, and Michael (Anna) DeCataldo and her daughter-in-law Darlene DeCataldo. She is also survived by 21 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, her sisters Alice Farkas, Joan Modzelewski, Virginia Scollan, and her sister in law, Mildred McCue.
